Disability Support Fund
The Disability Support Fund was established to enable those with mental illness to access community-based opportunities that you would otherwise not be able to access.
Who can apply for the DSF?
Applications will be accepted from individuals, case managers, service providers and carers. They will be accepted from or for individuals who do not have a current National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan.
This fund is available to those located within the Barwon / Southwestern region of Victoria. The region covers the areas comprising of Greater Geelong, Queenscliff, Surf Coast, Colac-Otway, Corangamite, Warrnambool, Moyne, Southern Grampians and Glenelg.
All applications are kept strictly confidential.
What funding options are available?
The DSF offers funding, resources and support which assists individuals or carer groups including for example:
- Art classes & equipment
- Computer courses
- Gym memberships
- Music lessons
- Bicycles and safety equipment
- Cooking classes
- Martial arts lessons
- Driving lessons
- Musical instruments
- Equipment for programs
- Self-development courses




Group Funding for carers of people with a mental health condition
Applications will be accepted from carer groups to develop projects that demonstrate potential for positive outcomes for carers of people with a mental health condition.
Applications are restricted to those located within the Barwon/South West Region. The region covers the areas comprising of the Shires of Glenelg, Moyne, Southern Grampians, Corangamite, Surfcoast, City of Greater Geelong, Colac Otway Council, City of Warrnambool and the Borough of Queenscliffe.
Supported activities include:
- Self help group initiatives
- Courses for carers eg. stress management
- Newsletters
- Payment for speakers for information nights / seminars
- Other activities that meet the guidelines
